Julie McCauley

Julie McCauley is currently an Educational Consultant at UNC’s Frank Porter Graham Child Development
Institute working on projects focused on autism spectrum disorders. She has 11 years of experience
working in special education as a behavioral interventionist, teacher of students with behavioral and
emotional disabilities, and as a K-5 Cross Categorical Resource Teacher. She has a Master’s in Special
Education and is Nationally Board Certified. Her current role involves providing professional development
and coaching educators in the areas of goal attainment scaling, data collection, planning, implementing,
and monitoring the use evidence based practices. Julie’s areas of interest include working with school
staff, students, and families to develop social skills, manage interfering behavior, increase
self-management and independence, and implement communication systems for students with ASD so
that they can be functional and successful members of their classrooms and communities.
