Alice Mockovciak has served students with diverse learning and social needs for over three decades working in the field of special education as Director of Special Education and as a Special Educator. She served as Director of Exceptional Children at Socrates Academy in North Carolina and as Director of Special Education in Germantown Central School in New York prior to relocating south. As a special educator, Alice has worked in several districts including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Hudson City Schools, and Catskill Central School in the roles of co-teacher, consultant, resource room, and self-contained teacher. Currently, Alice is a doctoral candidate at Grand Canyon University and anticipants receiving an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership emphasis in Special Education in the near future. She was awarded a B.A. in Psychology from the State University at New Paltz, a M.S. in Special Education from the College of St. Rose, and a New York State School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) and New York State School District Administrator (SDA) certifications earned from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
