Glennda McKeithan

Glennda McKeithan is the NC DADD Secretary who has been an active leader in NC CEC for the past several years. She is a retired NC Special Education teacher, and a full time Autism Program Associate for the University of Kansas. Dr. McKeithan has 20+ years of experience working with students with high functioning autism in both general and special education settings. She is familiar with the characteristics of children with autism and has experience with assessments, social-behavioral interventions, and curriculum development strategies. Dr. McKeithan has extensive background in teacher support via education consultant, teacher mentor, coordinating teacher and college supervisor. Dr. McKeithan earned a B.A. in English as well as a M.Ed. in Special Education and Ph.D., in Curriculum & Instruction from North Carolina State University. Her research interests include meeting the needs of students with high functioning Autism in general education settings, the practical application of evidence based interventions and developing effective online instruction.
